Hello musicians,
Any of you ever tried to put the keyed for an SL88 grand into an SL88 studio?
Reason I'm asking is because I managed to damage the connection between the keyed and main board on my 88 grand during a routine disassembly to repair a few dead keys after some minor water damage. The connector wire pins on the main board were bent, and now I'm missing multiple octaves! I know, super annoying I'm pulling my hair out.
Looking for a spare main board part, I've realised that basically all the parts apart from the actual keyed in the two keyboards are interchangeable. As a spare main board is like £200, seems like a complicated thing to replace as it's connected to the screen, and my DIY confidence has recently taken a big hit, I thought I might just get a used SL88 studio on marketplace for £100 and swap the keybeds. Seems easy, right?
Anyone tried this or have reason to believe it wouldn't work?
