VSL + OT

Has anyone built a template with VSL and OT libraries? Do they need a lot of tweaking to sit right in the mix? I'm really enjoying the sound synchron perc.

I do have both VSL and OT libraries in my template. I don’t tweak a lot, just simply create buses for VSL instruments and OT instruments, and then finding the balance I want for the particular cue. I set VSL for dryer sound and OT for more ambient, layering two together yields lush and detailed sounds.

I can see the two here blending well but I imagine the Synchron libraries which are brighter would probably stand out against OT and feel a little more upfront. The VI libraries on the other hand...they can get sent through MIR's Teldex impulses and actually get pretty close to the OT sound

Synchron Strings (Pro & Elite) are my main writing tools, I made multis for Berlin Strings to match the articulations that I used in Synchron.

I can just simply copy the midi clips from Synchron to Berlin. OT’s samples are having some kind of noise which I like, to accompany the super clean samples of VSL.

I use VSL and OT to write music from emotional to brutal epic, they are so versatile.
