Using ModWheel to add more samples to inital sample.

Hi All,

Working on a little percussive instrument here, and what I'm trying to do is have more samples added to a base layer sample as you move the modwheel up. I know you can do this in the mapping editor by having the base zones present in all velocites, but I want the choice of adding more zones to be via a modulation parameter (not velocity).

So basically, as you turn up the mod wheel, you could think of it as more players start playing, but then if the modwheel is up full and all the samples are playing, I'd still like the volume to be controlled by velocity.

Does that make any sense?

You could have a second, third, fourth group etc. with a volume modulator linked to CC1 and use the modulation shaper to set the value CC1 must be at before each group can be heard.

This would work alongside the velocities affect on the volume.
