Good quality cheap music production headphones?

In addition to AKGs I'd seriously consider Superlux headphones, HD668B are a great deal for what they offer. The best thing is that you'll still have enough left to get something like Morphit to make them flat - they are included in Morphit's preset list.

Does Guitar Rig 6 sound better than 5?

While I use Guitar Rig quite a bit for sound design purposes, Scuffham S-Gear and Neural DSP amps are miles ahead of GR and Amplitube purely for guitar amps IMO.

Do you have a sub woofer in your monitoring setup?

I do, but I rarely use it for any serious mixing. If you aren't working in a fairly treated room I'd suggest checking sub-bass on a pair of quality cans.

    Jack-XLR: Speaker Noise Problem

Ha, I knew it! Glad I could help, enjoy the noiseless speakers :)

What is the best investment you've ever made in audio?

    Jack-XLR: Speaker Noise Problem

It's likely a ground loop. Yamaha HS series are known for having those ground issues. I had a similar setup around ten years ago and this cheap box saved my sanity: https://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_microhd_hd400.htm If you go through the reviews you'll see that there are people who had...

    Jack-XLR: Speaker Noise Problem

Also, using quad cables like Mogami 2534 would be beneficial in high RF and EM intereference situations since they are much better at rejecting noise than the usual cables and they can reduce noise from 10-30 dB.

IPad for Metagrid, how low can you go?

I use Metagrid with an older iPad Air (1st gen) and iOS 12.0.1 and it works absolutely great, super fast and responsive. 5x6 or 6x7 grid configuration, depending on page. I do use it for Metagrid only without any other bloat. I wouldn't worry about screen size - plenty of folks here use Stream...

Room EQ - REW, ARC. Sonarworks comparisons

I definitely preferred Sonarworks when I was testing in my room. AudioVero Acourate is another great option which isn't mentioned as often as the usual suspects and it corrects both frequency and phase issues, similar to much more expensive Trinnov. That isn't crucial for me since my Neumann DSP...

    Extra Monitor setup

If you are a Cubase user, you don't need a hardware monitor controller - you can use Cubase's Control Room which can be used as a virtual monitor controller for up to 4 pairs of monitors (stereo, mono, surround). I use it with my different monitors and Metagrid which acts as a controller and...

Why does my mix sound muddy if it sounded OK in my headphone monitors?

While I definitely prefer mixing on speakers (on one speaker in mono, actually), you can certainly get professional results with cans. Thousands of dollars spent on acoustically perfect room and then equally on speakers would be ideal...but it's not realistic for most people and it certainly...

    Dynaudio LYD 48's arrived

It's extremely easy to do, you basically just move the measurement mic around the room. There are plenty of Youtube videos how. Sennheiser HD-600?

Sure thing - crossfeed plugins such as CanOpener Studio emulate the effect that happens when you're mixing on speakers. All of the headphones mentioned here are more than capable for mixing. There aren't perfectly flat flawless headphones - that's where software like Sonarworks correction comes in handy.
