Watch: Our biggest project to date arrives December 14, find out who the collaborator is now

Curious, but not going to change my BF plans over this new library. No matter who the Hollywood composer is, what would make the difference in my case is the content of the library and its price. It does sound like it will probably be an all-in one library focused on workflow (Hollywood...

OT's SINE Player vs SA Player

Another thing to consider: How many years has Kontakt been around, and how many years has Sine been around? In almost two 2 years Sine is morphing into a solid product, give them a bit more time and we'll have a comparable product with Kontakt, as far as stability is concerned. I personally...

Berlin Brass vs JXL Brass -- Orchestral Tools

IMO the Berlin Brass is still better for overall use. If OT were to come up with an update to it (add a loud layer for ex.) that would make it a no brainer. JXL Brs is well made too, but I always felt that BB sounds more natural. Also, the BB concept is more 'traditional' and 'imposes' on...

Metropolis Ark 1 - Kontakt vs SINE

There is no point in buying the Kontakt version now when all is being migrated to the Sine player. Unless, you're on a project and your template uses heavily Kontakt save the 55 Euros and get the newest version - Sine is getting better and better anyways.

    Junkie XL Brass?

Hi Craig, A pre-emptive comment here :) I did mention the demos too, same as Alfred. And I am not impressed either. However, my opinion has nothing to do with the writing or the composition, I cannot judge that. My comments are strictly referring to the sound of the library as presented on...

    Junkie XL Brass?

+1 on the above. I do like a lot of the 'on-paper' specs the library offers. Add to this Tom's impressive involvement, Sine and price = why not? But then, there is the demos they've released that are very average to say the least. There is moments when I hear these tracks and my only concern...

Personally would have loved to hear a JXL Brass demo by OT's Sacha K. His demos for OT are great and really do justice to the demoed product. The one demo that still makes the difference is JXL's brass demo (maybe, the only one they should have released.) I am not sure what's up with these...

@ VivianaSings - I do see your point. However, here is a few more thoughts: i do not believe a self employed composer is using samples to maximize profits - it's more likely, so he / she can get paid less than minimum hourly rate. And that at best... I am also sure that composers (especially...

Tom here to talk about JXL Brass

Hello Guffy, It may work for you, but it will not work just fine for some others. I can go on and explain why it is not ideal having the same solo instrument playing all the parts, but this has been extensively elaborated here. Yes, I am aware that Berlin Brass has that separate lay out, but...

The way it stands and based on the infor that OT has thrown out there, I'd skip Berlin Brass regardless of BF specials, and just wait for the JXL Brass. I wish they can make it clear what is what.... but hey, that's the beauty of buying more unecessary libraries.
  64. G

    Junkie XL Brass?

What's interesting to me after seeing this video is that OT is 'pushing' the JXL library as something that it will be better than the Berlin Brass they already have ('consistency in dynamic layers,' etc.) Yet, there is no plans that JXL Brass will replace Berlin Brass in their catalog. Why...
