great! I haven't downloaded anything yet as I was waiting for it, good news!
Yes it works , you can copy the entire folder to another computer and after making sure you have linked Museo samples to this folder in Musio connect you can open Museo and download the sounds , they won't download but open immediately because all the samples are in the folderAnyone know if you can copy downloaded instruments folder to another computer?
Nothing recently AFAIK and it’s sorta overdue now. My pet theory - many have reported sample streaming issues with loaded instances, so it’s logical that 5 mic positions rather than 1 could cause problems even with a single instrument. So they need to really dig in and fix that issue. Of course everyone would benefit everyone if it proves to be the case. All just speculation on my part.Since Musio 1 is on sale again: is there any info out there on when mic positions will come to Musio?
If I remember correctly, some people also noted a "missing low end" in the Musio version of CinePerc but as far as I understand, this was essentially fixed with an update.Yeah, it would be interesting to have mic positions available, cause for example when I was comparing CineStrings Core to the Kontakt ones there was a massive difference in overall sound (assuming it is the same mixed mic in Musio like the one which loads by default in Kontakt). The Kontakt ones having fuller, more low, low-mid sound while Musio one was like close mic plus just little room or surround mic..! So I'm glad to have CineStrings in Kontakt. Haven't compared other orchestral sections yet, but overall it is tremendous value, I tried Gina Luciani lib yesterday and it's so great and many more instruments to try..!
I’ve got so much out of it already that I’m cool with the risks.I'm conflicted on Musio 1.
It does sound like a good deal at first, but I'm pretty worried about their ability to last. Having researched this topic, they're really behind on stuff that's been "Coming soon" for a really long time now.
Apart from the mic positions etc., Ireland and Scotland were announced to be released first in July 2023. They're still "coming soon".
It's not that I'm particularly interested in them. The point is that they seem to be having trouble getting the plane off the ground, and I don't feel like losing my investment, no matter how small it is. And yes, I'm aware of the TOC clausule about a user being able to retain access even if the company goes under. I wouldn't trust that too much.
Thoughts?
That's true, of course. We can't predict the future. I caved in and got the deal. If it ends up working out, I don't need to invest in Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra (many of the same instruments are included) and an assortment of other separate libraries. It covers a lot of ground with high quality.I’ve got so much out of it already that I’m cool with the risks.
You can spend your life worrying about what might happen or you can just get on with sh1t. I’ve had loads of value out of it already — I don’t make money from music so quantify purchases by how they inspire me, whether or not the sounds make their way onto finished tracks etc.
Musio1 is a bargain. There’s more than enough included to keep me going for years. The plugin and libraries are getting frequent and good updates.
Mic mixes are clearly a massive undertaking — both from the development and server costs points of view. It’s understandable that it will take time. In the meantime I’m happy with the single mix — there’s less friction and option paralysis, fewer choices means I just get on with stuff rather than get tempted into endless tweaking which IK wont to do LoL!
Nothing lasts forever. Enjoy yourself whilst you can.
Also, as there’s the option to subscribe for $10 a month as well as purchase musio1 there’s an alternative built in. I’m sure it’s easy enough to work out whether you get $10 a month value from it.
I got it at $299 and don’t regret that it is now available for $199.
As for worrying about the future the more of us that buy in the better their chances.
Indeed. That's what got me interested. And I'm also still such a beginner that whatever happens, I'll run out of composing skills far before I run out of instruments and articulations. I already have HOPUS, Symphony series (with NI CE), Symphobia series and now Musio 1 (all acquired through sales). I think that if this combination doesn't bring me the desired results, it's not the libraries that's the problem. Most single libraries cost around $400 these days. This is their entire catalogue including over 80 libraries for half of that.
The corresponding everything bundle in Kontakt format is priced at $6000. Even if they went bankrupt today and the mic positions never came, the deal is the best I’ve ever seen without comparison.
And they release great updates all the time. They might not hit the deadlines with the new libraries but we must remember they’re a small team.
If that’s the case, then you chose the wrong hobby! Take a look at the thread where people list the libraries that they purchased and regretted. I think everyone has at least one of those experiences, and many of their regrets cost more that $200.“I don't feel like losing my investment, no matter how small it is.”
